Map appearance

Basemap Track detail

Automatic detail reaches full resolution at zoom 12. Close views draw nearby track sections, including a buffer for panning, using their original GPS points. All loaded tracks remain available for selection, filters and statistics. Always full uses original coordinates at every zoom. Subpixel detail reduces details smaller than half a screen pixel, for comparison with the main map; it does not change saved GPS points. Selected flights keep original detail.

Customize colors, tracks & airport dots

Changes apply live and save automatically on this device and browser. Export a file to use them on another device or send me your preferred defaults. Clearing browser data removes the local copy.

Dark basemap palette

Check a color to override the basemap; uncheck to restore the provider color. Dark and Light keep separate palettes. Labels, map data and attribution stay intact.

Country, state & region labels

Separate visibility, size, opacity, colors and halos for each group. Provider zoom ranges stay intact; changes do not add labels absent from the basemap.

Flight track styling

Widths blend smoothly between zoom 4 and zoom 12. Selection and hover colors use full opacity.

Airport dot styling

Dot radii blend between zoom 4 and zoom 12. Touch screens add 2 px to dots and 1 px to code text; selected dots add another 2 px.

Pilot airport label styling

Airline airport label styling

Airport code density

Codes share collision handling across both sources. Selected and hovered airports take priority at every zoom. Dots remain visible when a code is hidden.

Airline track styling

Airline airport dot styling

Airports served by both sources use pilot styling while pilot dots are enabled.

Loaded flights

Find a flight

Load flights to populate this list.

Choose a flight to keep it highlighted. Search narrows this list; airport filters change the map.

Flight

Hover a path to identify it. Click to keep it highlighted.

Filtered flight statistics

Distance units

Statistics describe the loaded flights after year and airport filters. Distances use nautical miles (NM).

Pilot logbook totals

Logbook year

Open to load your pilot logbook totals.

Totals include the full pilot logbook and estimated distances. The filtered-flight statistics above describe only loaded tracks. Airport takeoff/landing/PF totals cover all years; airline visits are counted separately.

Performance

Frame times measure browser animation frames during map movement. They are not GPU timings. Export keeps separate renderer samples and the selected flight IDs. Both views use the same basemap in a north-up 2D view.
